Chocolate Chip Nut Bars

1 cup   flour
0.75 cup   sugar
0.333333 cup   butter
2   eggs
0.5 cup   corn syrup
2 tbsp   melted butter
1 cup   semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup   chopped pecans/almonds/walnuts
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Make the crust: Combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar and 1/3 cup butter, mixing until crumbly. Press firmly into a greased 9" square cake pan. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until light, golden brown.

2. To make topping beat eggs, sugar, corn syrup and melted butter until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour evenly over baked crust. Bake for a further 25 to 30 minutes until mixture is set and golden. Cool then cut into squares.

Perfect for a Christmas buffet dessert table.
