Classic Chili

Cowboy Heaven

1 Lb 0.45 Kg   Lean Ground Beef
1 can 540 ml   Black Beans
1 can 540 ml   Kidney Beans
1 large   Onion
1   Green Pepper
1   Red Pepper
1 can 540 ml   Diced Tomatoes
1 can 156 ml   Tomato Paste
2   Jalapeno Peppers
0.5 cup 125 ml   Mushrooms
2 tbsp 30 ml   Chili Powder
0.5 tsp 2 ml   Smoked Paprika
1 tsp 5 ml   Chili Flakes
2   Garlic cloves
  Oil, for sauteing
  Salt and Pepper

1. Cut onion and mince garlic. Saute in a little oil, in a large cooking pot over medium heat. Add in the ground beef, and stir around to separate the beef.

2. Chop peppers, and mushrooms. Once beef is browned, stir in the tomato sauce and tomato paste.

3. Open the beans, and rinse with water through a strainer. Stir the beans into the chili pot. Add in the vegetables, and spices. Stir so its all combined and merrying.

4. Simmer the chili over medium-low heat for a couple hours. Serve with a warm hunk of cornbread.
