Danish Bleu Salad

1. Heat the butter in a small frying pan over medium-low heat. Once it's melted, stir in the brown sugar and pecans. Stir the pan occasionally as the nuts toast and carmelise. Set aside to cool after about 7 minutes. 2. Wash and tear the lettuce and place in a serving bowl. Finely dice the red onion, and slice the avocado and sprinkle in. Crumble, or dice the blue cheese, and spread over top of the salad. Top with the pecans. Ranch dressing, surprisingly, really works perfectly with this salad.
